Meet the Woman Behind “Get A Hold Of Your Darn Finances”
Hi, I’m Rubbie Groves-Clay child of God, mother, grandmother, entrepreneur, author, teacher, and lifelong dreamer with a passion for helping others rewrite their financial story.
For more than 35 years, I’ve worked across real estate, insurance, property management, and financial education building a life rooted in faith, perseverance, and purpose. As the founder of Series of Gifts LLC, I created Get A Hold Of Your Darn Finances (GAHOYDF) to teach individuals and families how to take back control of their money and live a life of freedom.
From Challenge to Calling
At just 15 years old, I became a teen mom while attending Sumner High School.
The world counted me out, but God had other plans. I went on to graduate, become Homecoming Queen, and promise my son that our story would not end in struggle but rise in strength.
Years later, while thriving in real estate, I realized that even success couldn’t buy true financial peace. I was earning, but not free — living the same paycheck-to-paycheck cycle I’d vowed to break.
Everything changed when I attended a $15 financial class at my church.
That single step opened my eyes to budgeting, saving, and building wealth the right way. Within months, I was debt-free and spiritually grounded in stewardship not survival.
That moment became my mission.
The Birth of GAHOYDF
In 2012, I noticed most people I served in housing management were denied for home loans not because of income, but because of poor credit and lack of financial literacy. That was my lightbulb moment.
I wrote my first book, “Get A Hold Of Your Darn Finances… Not Only Can You Buy a House, But You Can Buy Whatever You Want.”
Today, GAHOYDF has grown into a full program of financial education, coaching, and youth empowerment, helping everyday people take charge of their money, build wealth, and change generations.
